An actual blog entry is coming, however the photos I would like to use are on my Dad's camera and have not been uploaded yet. Once they are I'll tell you all about the baseball game. :)
Instead, have a photo of my ankle, which although still very swollen is almost healed over. The slightly red spot where my ankle would be if it wasn't so meaty around there is from where I fell yesterday. Ow.
And also, here is a picture of my finger, which I cut with the non-blade-side of a butter knife while cutting velveeta for soup (which I did not bleed into, fortunately):
And here is the soup (cheesy cheese nacho potato soup...with cheese! Good with chips):
I had the peroneal tendon surgery in April
ReplyDeleteWhere exactly is the wierd tender spot?? I have some areas too and would like to know what the doctors are telling you
Pretty much immediately after my surgery onward I've had this semi-numb super tender region from about where the bottom edge of the scar (near the bottom of my foot but still on the side) to my little toe, and then it sort of turns and is on the top of my foot above the two smallest toes. Doctor said it's fairly normal. Internet said it could just be from lack of use or too much use.
ReplyDeleteThis surgery sucks, hope you're healing well.
Thanks Madison
ReplyDeleteMine is - on the TOP of my foot, about 1" down from the base of my little toe. It is about the area of a quarter. It is super tender
It also hurts a bit on the outside of my foot too where you mentioned
The OS thought maybe it was a stress fracture. Took an XRAY - said I might have to have MRI because nothing showed on the XRAY
I am out of the boot and wearing tennis shoes and that area rubs and it is painful
You are right - this sucks!!!
I haven't gotten to the point where I can start walking yet, which will be interesting when school starts in a few weeks. I'll be in the boot until probably September.
ReplyDeleteI'm not reallly sure what provokes the tenderness on me, sometimes it is like my foot is on fire, and others it feels like nothing is wrong at all. I haven't figured out what makes it do this stuff yet. My ankle's doing great, at least.
Madison
ReplyDeleteI noticed that you said foot on fire....please don't think I am trying to scare you, but that is one of the symptoms that I have too. They contributed mine to a condition after surgery called RSD. If diagnosed early, it can be treated and hopefully reversed
y
Do you have any changes in color to your foot?? I was experiencing red, white and blue on my foot and that is one of the symptoms of RSD, along with the burning
Again, I am in NO way trying to scare you, but if there is any remote chance this burning feeling is that, you want to have it treated early
Please email if you have questions : saintnick08014@msn.com
PS - Louise and I have been communicating too
ReplyDeletebecause I had the surgery a few weeks b4 her
This is not surgery you want to go through alone
No discoloration, I've been checking. I operate at a level of paranoia for my health that's actually pretty good for catching things in time (this is not my only medical problem by any means). Keeping an eye on it.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree. It's hard to do things like this. My major accomplishment lately is going to check the mail. Since I live alone a friend and my parents took turns staying with me to help.
Good good good to the "no discoloration"
ReplyDeleteI didn't want you to go through what I am going through
I understand not being able to do anything,,,,if you are by yourself, that makes it really really hard
Take care and hope you are up and around soon
Likewise. I hope your foot gets better too.
